This week I made a number of collage drawings. This one was inspired by a poem by Doris Strickney called Waterbugs and Dragonflies. It is dedicated to my cousin Matt, may he rest in peace.

So, it has been awhile.  Not because I quit painting or drawing, but because my husband and I just got back into town after a three month cross-country bike tour. This summer we cycled from Tacoma,WA to Brunswick,ME. Along the way where wasn't always an opportunity it get crafty, mainly due to exhaustion at the end of the day. But here are a few things I did manage to do along the way.

Megan's Happy Pils(ner)

Our friend Megan just made her very first home-brew.  It's  Czech style Pilsner, so I asked if I could make a label for it.  Here's how it turned out.

Oh, and the beer is great!  Our Czech friends would approve!

I wasn't sure this was going to work or not, but it does!  The woven bike tubes absorbed the heat from a super hot teapot without sticking to the bottom,  hooray!  It doesn't absorb heat a well as cork, but I would say it does absorb heat as well as a fabric hot pad.
