I wasn't sure this was going to work or not, but it does!  The woven bike tubes absorbed the heat from a super hot teapot without sticking to the bottom,  hooray!  It doesn't absorb heat a well as cork, but I would say it does absorb heat as well as a fabric hot pad.

This was a fun experiment. They are easier to make then the triangle is larger.  Wanted to make a change purse because my friend carries his change around in a zip-lock baggie.

DIY: Bike Tube Wallet

I found another project to make with all our old bike tubes!

I was surprised how easy it was to sew them by hand.  And they didn't take that long either - about an hour and half and two hours for the one with the cat.
